What I work on
Five areas that look separate on paper. In practice they are the same question asked from different angles.

Industry
I look at how a sector is actually built. Not the brand names, but the suppliers, the technology, the installed capacity and the infrastructure underneath them.

Economics
Prices, costs, demand and incentives decide what gets built and what quietly does not. That is usually where the real answer lives.

Strategy
Research is only worth something once it becomes a decision. Where to enter, what to build, what to leave alone, and in what order.

Public Systems
Regulation, governance and infrastructure set the limits of what is possible. I work out where the binding constraint sits, and I have designed the systems that operate inside it: evaluation frameworks, payout rules, decision infrastructure.

Trade
Industrial capability, trade policy and market access all collide the moment a business tries to cross a border. They are one problem, not three.

Fuels & Energy

India's fuel mix is shifting faster than the infrastructure that has to carry it. I am working through the economics of that gap. How blending targets turn into physical supply chains, what they cost along the way, and which part of the system quietly absorbs that cost.
Steel
02Specialty Steel · Industrial Capacity · Trade Remedies
Steel is where industrial policy, trade and very heavy capital meet. I am looking at specialty grades in particular. What downstream demand genuinely justifies domestic capacity, and what decides whether a producer is competitive once you strip the trade measures away.
Electronics & Semiconductors

India's electronics ecosystem is being built in public, which makes it unusually good to study. The question I keep coming back to is where value actually lands, as opposed to where output gets recorded.
Atomic Energy

Nuclear gets treated as a technical subject. Most of what decides its trajectory is industrial and institutional instead. Who can build the components, who carries the liability, and who is willing to finance an asset that pays back over thirty years.
International Trade

Trade policy, industrial capability and business strategy usually get studied by three different sets of people. They are one problem seen from three positions, and most entry failures happen in the gaps between them.
I would rather publish the question I am stuck on than a conclusion I have not earned.

How I work

Question
Work out what actually needs answering. Most research goes wrong right here, by settling for the question that was easiest to reach.

Research
Go under the visible layer. Suppliers, technology, regulation, trade flows, capital, institutions.
03
Data
Build the evidence. Use the data where it exists, and construct it where it does not.
04
System
Map how the parts connect, so the real constraints and the few places they can be moved become visible instead of assumed.
05
Strategy
Turn it into a decision, with the reasoning intact and the uncertainty stated rather than smoothed over.

I work on research and strategy problems where economics, data, industry and institutions run into each other.
For an industry, that means the suppliers, the technology, the infrastructure, the regulation, the trade flows and the capital it takes to enter. The company you can name is usually the least informative part of the system it sits in.
The subjects look scattered. The thread is not. All of it is the same habit: work out how a system is actually put together, then use that to make a better decision inside it.
